Athol is a familiar face in the Australian entertainment scene via his foundation and International success of the legendary “Seekers” with his lifelong friends Judith Durham, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley.
As individual Australians of the Year, with the keys to the City of Melbourne and the only group inducted into Variety’s Australian 100 Entertainers of the Century, they remain unique in the country's affections.
He also has the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal, and Australia's Centenary Medal.
Not as familiar is his success and activity in the worlds of television, politics and business.
Elected to three successive terms in the Victorian Parliament – 71/79 , he opted to return to the business world and rejoined the Clemenger group as Executive Director of Clemenger Harvie. 79/89.
During the 90s, whilst contemplating a return to the political world, he joined St George Bank's marketing team as Business Development Consultant, and then AMP's blue ribbon financial planning group Hillross Financial.
Alongside these roles, he happily accommodated the many hundreds of reunion concerts with the Seekers from 1993 to 2004. effectively curtailing any further political ambitions.

With a long history of business tourism and entertainment marketing he is constantly in demand for associated projects and guest speaking roles.
Whilst scaling back these activities recently to more community associated needs, his connections and advice remain extremely valued.
Still fully active musically – his trademark double bass always stays remarkably in tune and ready to party!
